On September 21st, 10 x Kensington & Chelsea based Architects, drawn from membership of the RBKC Supply Chain were invited by the Council to bid for an initial feasibility study on the conversion of some housing properties. Whoever wins the work will become a local winner from the RBKC.
Onthe 17th September we had a webinar on ‘Human Resources advice for SMEs in the Covid-19 era’ which covered many of the common mistakes made by employers about their employees, how to handle employees coming out of Furlough, how to comply with IR 35 when classifying a member of staff as self employed among other issues. The session was delivered by Olga Cresse, a consultant with over 15 years experience of HR management, who is now providing advice to SMEs, particularly those which do not have any in house HR staff.
For those of you who did not attend the HR Webinar, we intend to run it again soon
In July/August we engaged with two new buyers which have committed to resource more from the borough:
· Newlands Construction and Savills – 2 Cranley Gardens
We have had a meeting with the developers and main contractors for a £2.2m project to create 12 flats at 2 Cranley Gardens. We have initially given them details of the local builders merchants and suppliers.
· Gilbert Ashe/Frogmore – 146-164 Notting Hill Gate
This is a £20m project to build a 173 bed hotel. It is due to start on site in August. To date we have mainly been involved in advising them on their Local Procurement Strategy which is now complete.
